Empower! Poetry Curriculum is divided into five thematic weeks and one portfolio project week. Each week, students will be invited to experience, analyze, craft, share, and publish poetry. Within the lessons, students will explore poetry with guided critical inquiry and worldview tools and questions. Students will learn how to use the poems from each lesson as mentor texts for their own poetry craft. Throughout the curriculum, students will engage in personal reflection and learn how to employ poetry as a vehicle for their own voices.
